Faces of joy in Glasgow as FC Barcelona players meet two young fans

All smiles following the 2-0 defeat of Celtic on Wednesday night, the players then made their way to Glasgow Airport for the return flight to Barcelona. As ever, there were plenty of people there to see them off, and there were two young children that stood in particular among the crowd, dressed in their Barça gear and eager to catch a glimpse of their heroes
They cried out the names of all the players as they passed by, and that of Luis Enrique too. The manager was the first to stop and sign an autograph, followed by Ter Stegen and Arda Turan.
And then Neymar Jr, Messi and Luis Suárezappeared. All three members of the trident stopped to speak to the two lads, sign autographs and even pose for photographs.

Barca agree deal for Gremio’s Arthur.

Barcelona have a reached an agreement in principle with Brazilian club Gremio to sign midfielder Arthur next year in a deal worth up to 40 million euros ($49.2 million), according to reports in Spain on Wednesday. “FC Barcelona have taken an almost definitive step to seal the recruitment of Arthur,” wrote Catalan daily Sport, who reported the transfer fee would be 30 million euros with a further 10 million in bonuses. Mundo Deportivo claimed Barca director of football Robert Fernandez went to Porto Alegre “to seal the transfer of Arthur, with whom the club have reached a deal starting from January 2019”. The 21-year-old is expected to arrive during next season’s winter transfer window, although Madrid-based Marca suggested he could join the club this summer if Barca reduce the number of non-EU players in their squad. Barcelona consider new approach to try and land Verratti?

Thought you’d heard the last of the Marco Verratti to Barcelona  saga? Well think again, because it seems this one still has plenty left to run, with the latest reports claiming a change of approach from Barca. Instead of simply offering Paris Saint-Germain a huge amount of money for their midfielder, Sport claim Barca could instead offer cash plus a certain Ivan Rakitic. They even go so far as to say that while PSG want €100m for Verratti, they would also be willing to accept €70m plus Rakitic. Why Rakitic you ask? Well, Unai Emery is a big fan of the midfielder, having worked with him at Sevilla,  and will demand a replacement should Verratti go.
