Xavi Believes Messi Will Re-Sign with Barcelona

In a recent interview, former Barcelona star midfielder Xavi Hernandez expressed his thoughts on the contract situation of Lionel Messi.

Barcelona and Lionel Messi’s contract situation hasn’t been resolved yet. However, Lionel Messi’s current deal doesn’t expire until next year. Despite this, the Barca officials, Messi, and his family want the contract resolved. Many different people had shared their points of view on the contract talks. The latest to speak on it is former Barca star midfielder Xavi Hernandez. The current Al-Sadd midfielder thinks that Messi will renew with the team he’s grown up with eventually.
While Messi waits for his new contract, he’s been changing matches for Barca. In matches you think Barca should lose, Messi steals a point with a signature free kick. When you think it’s gonna be a draw, Messi dribbles through the defense like traffic cones and steals all three points. This alone should be enough reason to pay Messi what he deserves. Xavi thinks that and he mentioned it in an interview.
“There’s always a lot of noise in the media when it comes to Messi,” Xavi said on Fox Sports. “He’s the best player in the world and people always want to write about him, but often the noise is false, it’s not true, and I’m sure that’s the case at the moment. I don’t have any doubts that Messi will renew with Barcelona, no doubts.”
He added, “Throughout the years there’s no doubt he would have had chances to make more money with huge offers from the clubs with rich owners, but his heart is with Barça. His relationship with Barça is idyllic and I think it will continue for many more years yet.”
Messi and Xavi have made some magic over the years. Xavi is just the latest in a line of people who back Messi getting a new deal. To be honest, Messi is priceless (like that one picture taken at the perfect time). Of course, he always shows this quality every time that he steps on the pitch.
In conclusion, Xavi of course means well when it comes to talking about his former club. He loves Messi just as Barca fans do. In addition to this, he’s being backed by some players currently with the team and by his manager. Hopefully, the situation gets dealt with quickly so that it won’t be an ongoing distraction to the team. There is no way that the Barca team survives without number 10 on the pitch. Barca officials must realize that Messi is a game changer. In addition, he doesn’t need the team to play well for him to be that game changer. Messi must get paid soon.
