Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi ‘signed pre-contract agreement to join Inter Milan’ in 2006

Argentine ace almost swapped La Liga for Serie A but decided to pen new Barca contract.
The Argentine ace signed a pre-contractual agreement to swap the Nou Camp for the San Siro in 2006 according to then-club advisor Luisito Suarez.
Suarez, who won the Ballon d’Or in 1960, claims he still has the paper work to prove that Inter were on the verge of completing one of their most sensational transfers a decade ago.

Talking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Suarez said: “We could have got him when Barcelona had Deco, Ronaldinho, and Eto’o up front.
“I still have the pre-contractual agreement that he signed.”
Messi was just forcing his way into Barcelona’s first-team in 2006 but former president Joan Laporta said it was the only time the club faced a  risk of losing the Argentine.
Laporta said: "When I was president we received many offers for Messi from clubs, including Inter, that were willing to pay his buyout clause."
Barcelona quickly tied Messi down to his second contract in three months and ultimately remained at the Catalan giants.
