Real Madrid, Barcelona planning £60 million Anthony Martial swoop

Manchester United have only just made Anthony Martial the most expensive teenager in history, but the sun believes Real Madrid and Barcelona would be ready to offer the Red Devils a profit on their investment.
The France international cost an initial £36 million, but with a further £8m arriving once he reaches 25 goals for Jose Mourinho's side and that same amount once he earns 25 caps for Les Bleus, United's outlay is likely to be at least £52m before the end of next season.
The report suggests the Spanish clubs would offer £60m, though United would surely be uninterested in a modest return at this stage of the player's development, but Madrid could include a player in return.
Los Merengues could offer James Rodriguez in a swap deal with Zinedine Zidane seemingly unwilling to accommodate the Colombian in his side.

Barcelona consider new approach to try and land Verratti?

Thought you’d heard the last of the Marco Verratti to Barcelona  saga? Well think again, because it seems this one still has plenty left to run, with the latest reports claiming a change of approach from Barca. Instead of simply offering Paris Saint-Germain a huge amount of money for their midfielder, Sport claim Barca could instead offer cash plus a certain Ivan Rakitic. They even go so far as to say that while PSG want €100m for Verratti, they would also be willing to accept €70m plus Rakitic. Why Rakitic you ask? Well, Unai Emery is a big fan of the midfielder, having worked with him at Sevilla,  and will demand a replacement should Verratti go. Barca agree deal for Gremio’s Arthur.

Barcelona have a reached an agreement in principle with Brazilian club Gremio to sign midfielder Arthur next year in a deal worth up to 40 million euros ($49.2 million), according to reports in Spain on Wednesday. “FC Barcelona have taken an almost definitive step to seal the recruitment of Arthur,” wrote Catalan daily Sport, who reported the transfer fee would be 30 million euros with a further 10 million in bonuses. Mundo Deportivo claimed Barca director of football Robert Fernandez went to Porto Alegre “to seal the transfer of Arthur, with whom the club have reached a deal starting from January 2019”. The 21-year-old is expected to arrive during next season’s winter transfer window, although Madrid-based Marca suggested he could join the club this summer if Barca reduce the number of non-EU players in their squad.
